Araucanía summer country fairs

By Equipo araucania.tours · October 15, 2026

In short

In summer 2026 there were country fairs and festivals all over La Araucanía: the Brotes de Chile Festival in Angol (January 23-25; Encancha), the "Ruta del Campo Vivo" rural fairs in Pucón (February 5-20; Pucón Municipality) and Temuco's first "Rutas de Botrolhue" country fair (February 7; BioBioChile). Dates for summer 2027 have not been published yet: check with each municipality.

In January and February, the municipalities of La Araucanía fill their weekends with country fairs (fiestas costumbristas): rural fairs with farm and Mapuche food, crafts, music and traditional games. This guide gathers the ones we could confirm with municipalities or the press in their latest edition, summer 2026. When we reviewed this guide we found no published dates for summer 2027: check with each municipality before you travel.

We do not cover the Andean area (Curacautín, Lonquimay, Melipeuco, Vilcún and Conguillío): its festivals are covered by araucaniaandina.com.

Coast

We found no municipal or press confirmation of the 2026 dates for the coastal festivals. A private calendar (fiestascostumbristas.cl) published programs attributed to the municipalities of Carahue (with its Potato Fair and the Nehuentúe country fair) and Toltén (with a country fair in Queule), but we could not verify them with official sources: Toltén Municipality's website was under maintenance when we reviewed this guide. Ask each municipality directly. Guides: Araucanía coast: Lake Budi and Puerto Saavedra and Toltén and Caleta Queule.

Before you go

  • Confirm the date on each municipality's website or social media: the dates in this guide are from 2026 and may change in 2027.
  • Plan your way back: many fairs are in rural areas; before going without a car, see Getting around Araucanía without a car and the summer season page.

Information reviewed on October 15, 2026. This guide is updated every year when municipalities publish their summer calendar. The dates in the table are from the latest edition, not summer 2027.
