Getting there
From Angol, the gateway town. From Temuco it's about 3 hours via route 5 and R-86, much of it gravel; a high-clearance or 4×4 vehicle is recommended. From La Araucanía Airport you can rent a car or take a bus to Angol (source: Sernatur, chile.travel).
Before you go
Go in summer, when the road is in better shape. Services are limited: bring water, food and warm clothes (source: Sernatur, chile.travel). Check opening hours and fees with CONAF.
